Global University Introduces the George M. Flattery Center for Global Reach
Global University is honored to announce the renaming of its Center for Global Reach as the George M. Flattery Center for Global Reach, celebrating the extraordinary legacy of a visionary missionary statesman while accelerating our mission to empower the global church through partnership and innovation.
Honoring a Pioneer of Global Mission
For more than 50 years, Dr. George M. Flattery devoted his life to full-time missionary service with Assemblies of God World Missions. His ministry blended deep love for people with an extraordinary vision for using every available means to proclaim the gospel to all nations.
Dr. Flattery’s innovative spirit shaped the landscape of distance theological education:
- Founded the International Correspondence Institute (ICI) in 1967 at just 30 years old, creating a revolutionary model for equipping believers worldwide
- Pioneered digital evangelism by embracing the Internet as a tool for gospel outreach, founding Global Colleagues (now Network211)
- Launched Project 10Million (now Project 100Million) in 2008, which has since made 64.1 million gospel presentations, resulting in 4.1 million evangelism responses and over 586,000 discipleship connections
- Served as president of both Global University and Network211 (2006-2010), touching nearly all of the world’s 255 countries, territories, and provinces
- Traveled to approximately 145 nations, driven by the passion to see people come to Christ and be discipled
Dr. Flattery understood what many are only now discovering: that language resources provided in a people’s heart language don’t just open doors—they create invitations that are almost demanded. He likely delivered the very first online gospel presentation, positioning him among the earliest pioneers of digital evangelism.

The George M. Flattery Center for Global Reach serves as Global University’s innovation engine for global missions, designed to scale our impact across the globe through speed, flexibility, and strategic partnerships—not just student enrollments.
Our Current Global Impact:
- Evangelizing and discipling believers in nearly every nation through our partnership network
- Reaching sensitive nations and empowering believers in some of the world’s most dangerous territories
- Transforming lives through Global University Prison Ministries, bringing hope and gospel transformation to some of America’s most forgotten
- Providing courses in over 130 languages, with resources reaching where traditional missionaries cannot go
Our Vision for the Future:
The George M. Flattery Center for Global Reach will honor Dr. Flattery’s innovative legacy by:
- Deploying AI-assisted translation systems to accelerate course availability in heart languages
- Developing adaptive discipleship platforms that meet learners where they are
- Adding 25 new languages to our course catalog
- Expanding global partnerships with indigenous ministries and language-based networks like India College of Ministry and Lanka College of Ministry
- Building a digital evangelism infrastructure that multiplies gospel access exponentially
The Center is a cornerstone of Global University’s ambitious goal to impact 30 million lives before 2030—a fitting tribute to a man whose vision has already touched over 64 million people with the gospel message.
