Dr. Alex Hennis, Global University (GU) teacher and professor, recently stood in awe as God opened doors for him to teach and preach on the island of Negross, in the Philippines. The Lord worked mightily, not only in the lives of adults, but many young people across the island as well. His whirlwind missions trip began by teaching two class at Negross Bible Training Center, where they use GU material, in Bacolod City, Philippines
Pastors of varying backgrounds gathered together under one roof to learn from this scholarly man of God, as he taught Hermeneutics and carried out a verse-by-verse analysis First Corinthians. Speaking to this group opened up other doors for him to preach at various churches and schools on the island during his week in the Philippines. From there he moved on to Talisay Christian Assembly in Talisay, where the Spirit of God drew many to the altar, including young people who surrendered their lives to Jesus.
Dr. Hennis says, “So we’re experiencing intimacy, personal fellowship, and the depth of God’s Spirit in a teaching environment in the morning with the leadership. Then we’re going into churches and experiencing the fiery move of the Spirit in the evening, and people were flooding the altars!”
Next, he was privileged to speak to the young people at St. Sebastian International School in the Philippines. Miraculously, nearly all the young people raised their hands at the altar call, indicating a desire to accept Jesus into their hearts.
God then opened the door for Dr. Hennis to speak at North Negross College. Once more, there was a mighty move of God, and nearly all 600 students in this secular school came forward to receive Jesus.
“The Spirit of God moved on an entire student body,” says Dr. Hennis. “The whole trip was so intense and amazing. I hit the ground running and didn’t stop until I boarded the plane for the return trip home. Honestly, it was one of the most impacting and fruitful experiences I’ve had.”
Dr. Alex Hennis has recorded his remarkable testimony, including his time in prison in Louisiana, in his book, “From Prisoner to Professor: How the Angola Prison Revival Launched an International Ministry,” available on Amazon.
