Global University Announces Transition in Academic Leadership
Dr. Nick Robertson Appointed Provost Following the Retirement of Dr. David De Garmo
Global University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Nick Robertson as its new provost, following the retirement of Dr. David De Garmo after more than a decade of faithful leadership.
Dr. De Garmo joined Global University in 2014 as dean of the Graduate School of Theology and was later appointed provost. With more than two decades of experience in higher education and local church ministry, he has guided the Academic Division with wisdom, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to academic excellence.
Under his leadership, Global University strengthened its academic infrastructure, expanded program offerings, and deepened its global impact. Dr. De Garmo is widely respected for his gracious leadership style and unwavering dedication to the mission of Spirit-empowered education.
“It has been a joy and an honor to serve alongside students, faculty, and staff who are deeply committed to equipping leaders for global ministry,” said Dr. De Garmo. “I am confident that Global University is entering a strong new season.”
Succeeding him is Dr. Nick Robertson, who brings more than 30 years of ministry experience in both academic and cross-cultural contexts. His work reflects a deep heart for cross-cultural ministry and spiritual formation, shaped by decades of leadership in global missions and higher education.
Dr. Robertson holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pentecostal Leadership from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) and most recently served as Missionary in Residence at the University of Valley Forge.
He is passionate about building academic environments that prepare students for global ministry—spiritually, theologically, and practically.
