Before you dive into speaking in front of strangers, practice with your classmates first. Prepare a sermon, deliver it to them as if you were speaking in front of an audience, and allow them to give you feedback.
You’ll find that even speaking formally in front of trusted peers is enough to make your pulse quicken, so getting some practice within a small group will prepare your nervous system for bigger speaking opportunities.
