English Editor

Global University seeks a talented and experienced English Editor to join our team. As an English Editor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and clarity of written materials produced by our institution. This position involves editing a wide range of content and involves working closely with faculty and deans. This position is based entirely on-site in our Springfield, Missouri office.

Key Responsibilities:

    1. Provide substantive editing and revising of course materials for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency.
    2. Serve as the editor and liaison between course writer and the appropriate dean.
    3. Read original manuscripts for readability, tone, language, cross-references, and for related research problems.
    4. Collaborate with the director to coordinate the development and maintenance of e-curriculum: online and e-formats.
    5. Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
    6. Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in editing and publishing.
     

Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or Bible with demonstrated compentency in these areas, or the equivalent.
    2. Proven experience in editing and proofreading, preferably in an academic or publishing setting.
    3. Strong command of the English language and excellent writing skills.
    4. Familiarity with Christian theological concepts and terminology is preferred.
    5. Knowledge and experience with Windows 365 apps, Adobe Creative Cloud Apps, SharePoint, and Basecamp.
    6. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
    7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Admissions Officer (bilingual)

Global University is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our Admissions team as a Bilingual Admissions Officer. This position plays a crucial role in the enrollment process by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of student admissions and records, particularly for our international student body. This position is based entirely on-site in our Springfield, Missouri office.

Key Responsibilities:

    1. Send acceptance emails and letters after reviewing student appliations and academic qualifications.
    2. Evaluate transcripts from international and US-based institutions for credit transfer to Global University.
    3. Research US and international systems of education to ensure proper evaluation of transcripts and academic records.
    4. Confirm the accuracy of Global University student records before issuing various documents and transfer-credit evaluations, enrollment verifications, and transcripts.
    5. Crosstrain in other Admissions and Records positions.
    6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Registrar.
     

 Qualifications:

    1. Strong English and Spanish writing and translations skills with the proper use of academic terminology.
    2. Some college experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
    3. Experience interacting with people from various Latin/Hispanic cultures.
    4. Understand and promote the mission of Global University.
    5. Confident telephone skills and presence.
    6. Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and non-verbal), attentive, socially/cross-culturally sensitive, etc.).
    7. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
    8. Exceptional record-keeping and data entry skills with attention to detail.
    9. Ability to work on varying and multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
    10. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows applications.

International Student Services
Representative

Global University invites applications for the position of International Student Services Representative. This role is pivotal in supporting our diverse student population from around the world, ensuring they have a smooth transition and fulfilling experience during their academic journey at our institution. This position is based entirely on-site in our Springfield, Missouri office.

Key Responsibilities:

    1. Process incoming mail from national offices.
    2. Process student applications for assigned national offices.
    3. Process subject enrollments for assigned national offices.
    4. Process final exams and enters other component scores into student records to generate final grade reports
    5. File graded final exam Scantrons.
    6. Send notification and follow-up emails to national offices as needed.
    7. Crosstrain in other duties such as maintaining final exam files, routing written assignments to faculty graders, processing graduate Student Course Records, etc.
     

Qualifications:

  1.  
    1. College education and experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
    2. Ability to collaborate with coworkers and administrators.
    3. Good record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
    4. Knowledge and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office suite.
    5. Strong organizational skills.
    6. Strong written communication skills – important for communicating with national offices staff where English is not their first language.
    7. Self-motivated and dependable.
    8. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
