As a student, you might feel stressed and anxious when ﬁnal exams are looming or if hardships in your personal life cause you to lose focus.
When this happens, we want to remind you that it was your faith in God and desire to follow His path that brought you here in the ﬁrst place, and you can lean on Him to get you through!
In today’s blog post, we offer you ﬁve comforting Bible verses for when your distance learning becomes stressful.
Rest in the Peace of God
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6–7)
These verses remind you that God is bigger than all our struggles here on Earth. Release your anxiety and rest in the peace of God, which transcends all understanding.
Let Go of Anxiety
“And which of you by being anxious, can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?” (Luke 12:25–26)
Here, Jesus reminds us that anxiety never adds time to anyone’s life—so it’s useless to worry (even though it’s hard not to!). Focus on what you can control, and trust God to take care of the rest.
Assurance of What We Do Not See
“Now faith is conﬁdence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)
When you are stressed, lean on your faith. Distance learning can be lonely and you may feel isolated. But you can trust that God is always with you and working in your life, even when you can’t see it yet.
His Compassions Never Fail
“I remember my afﬂiction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.’” (Lamentations 3:20–24)
During the darkest of times, this Scripture reminds you that God’s compassions never fail—they are “new every morning.” Verse 24 reminds you to stick with God, and He will give you strength.
Take Heart: I Have Overcome the World
“I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
These words from Jesus remind us that although we are guaranteed to struggle here on Earth, He has overcome the world through His ultimate sacriﬁce. So take heart—Jesus has already conquered it all for you.
