Challenge Yourself

Students who enroll in this diploma program must accept the responsibility to find a qualified mentor, invest time in a mentor relationship, and complete additional requirements related to personal development and ministry. 

Grow as a Leader

Students who complete the entire Leadership Honors program will have completed forty-five mentoring hours, and a capstone project for each of the three program levels. Additional information is available in the Capstone: Project and Mentoring Guidelines Manual. The Leadership Honors program must be the declared program of study for a student to be able to enroll in and receive a grade for the Leadership Honors capstone projects.

Ministerial Studies Levels

Global University offers Ministerial Studies with Leadership Honors in three successive program levels. Completion of each level will prepare you for ministerial advancement, including: Certification (Level One), Licensure (Level Two), and Ordination (Level Three).

Level One (Certified)

Upon completion of the Level One Ministerial Certificate, a student should possess the academic requirements to apply for Certified Minister status with the US General Council of the Assemblies of God. This would include a working knowledge of Bible study methods, New Testament content, and Pentecostal doctrine. He or she should possess the basic skills needed to begin serving in a ministerial role in the local church.

Level Two (Licensed)

Upon completion of the Level Two Ministerial Certificate, a student should possess the academic requirements to apply for Licensed Minister status with the US General Council of the Assemblies of God. This would include a mastery of specified Bible content, systematic theology, and ministry skills.

Level Three (Ordained)

Upon completion of the Level Three Ministerial Certificate, a student should possess the academic requirements to apply for Ordained Minister status with the US General Council of the Assemblies of God. This would include mastery of several of the more difficult books of the Bible, advanced theological concepts, and administrative skills required for ministerial roles.

Other Program Requirements

Level One (Certified)

  • 15 hours of mentoring with a qualified mentor
  • Mentor takes student through a discipleship training course
  • Service Learning Requirement activities must be approved by the mentor
  • After the completion of Level One courses, student must write the Level One capstone paper

Level Two (Licensed)

  • 15 hours of mentoring with a qualified mentor
  • Student must engage in ten witnessing encounters during the completion of Level Two
  • Service Learning Requirement activities must be approved by the mentor
  • After the completion of Level Two courses, student must write the Level Two capstone paper

Level Three (Ordained)

  • 15 hours of mentoring with a qualified mentor
  • The student must take someone through a discipleship training course
  • Service Learning Requirement activities must be approved by the mentor
  • After the completion of Level Three courses, student must write the Level Three capstone paper
