Students who have strong computer skills may take the Computer Competency Exam. Students who score a 70 percent or higher on the exam may have the requirement for course CSC1023 Introduction to Computers waived. They may then select another general education course of their choice, one that is not already required in their program of study. Students who score a 69 percent or lower on the exam must choose one of the following options:
The score for this exam is not printed in any location on the student’s transcript, and it is not calculated into his or her GPA. The Computer Competency Exam may be taken online or in paper form; the exam fee for either option is $25.00 and is nonrefundable. Students are permitted to take the exam only once.
The exam must be proctored, so if the student does not already have a proctor, who has been approved by Global University, the student should select a proctor and have him or her complete and submit the Exam Supervisor Application. Once a student has an approved proctor and we have received his or her Computer Competency Exam Request Form, we will either e-mail the online exam instructions to the proctor or mail the exam in paper form to the proctor.
