Learn Why Easter Is the Perfect Time for Evangelism & Discipleship – Global University

Evangelism and discipleship are two areas of focus at Global University. That’s because our mission is to seek the lost and train the found, helping them become closer to God and fulfill Christ’s mission for His people. In today’s blog from Global University, we will explain why Easter is the perfect time of year to practice evangelism and lead people to Christ’s message.

Jesus as an Evangelical

Jesus began his ministry when he was 30 years old. There was a great deal of groundwork that had to be done leading up to this point. Because He laid the groundwork for all of us, we are able to begin spreading His Word from the moment we learn to speak and understand the teachings.

This means you, as a student, have the tools to begin your work as a disciple today, evangelizing Christ’s teachings to all you meet.

Jesus asked his disciples to “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16:15).

Easter Represents Rebirth, Forgiveness

We are taught that Jesus was crucified, died, and rose from the dead, then he was seated at the right hand of God. This sacrifice by God saved us from sin and death, offering the promise of eternal life with Him. The Easter season not only celebrates this sacrifice, but represents rebirth, new life, and forgiveness.

For those looking for grace and rebirth, Easter is the perfect time to show them what has been made available to them. As a disciple, you are called upon to share your faith with others.

How to Prepare for the Easter Season

When Jesus was preparing for His journey to the cross and ultimately to join His father in heaven, He did one thing: He prayed for strength and wisdom.

As you prepare for Easter and discipleship, spend time in prayer. Ask God to reveal Himself to you, leading you to those most in need of His Word. Ask that He give you not only wisdom, but also the words that can teach and heal those who have been put in your path.

When Jesus was dying on the cross, His final request to His father was to forgive all those who had condemned Him. In this same way, you are being asked to forgive those who have wronged you. Through this cleansing, you will be able to shine a light to others, acting as a beacon to the Word of God.

As a disciple, your goal is to transform lives through Christ’s teachings.

As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world” (John 17:18).
